How to stop Breastfeeding and WIC?

I am currently fully breastfeeding but have to stop due to meds I need to be put on (I just was diagnosed with RA). I am so heartbroken. I am on WIC but recieve no formula because I am breastfeeding. I have 2 months worth of checks left, does WIC allow you to change like that and turn in unused checks in this kind of event. I cannot afford the formula, and I did have to put him on Soy formula for a week when he was a newborn because my milk didn’t come in yet. He was getting sick off regular formula. How do you get similac soy formula, if possible? I am in Florida.

To get the Soy formula, you will probably have to have a note from the doctor so that WIC knows it is a medical necessity. I don’t know if they will exchange the checks or not. Your best bet is to contact your WIC office as soon as possible.
